More News About CoffeeBerry and RevaleSkin

So if you've read the January edition of Allure Magazine, you know that a new product containing CoffeeBerry extract is due to launch this spring. Luckily I was able to catch the company's PR person before she left for the long weekend and she gave me a bit more information.

Although there is no set launch date for this product, it will only be available from dermatologist or plastic surgeon's office. I asked why this was and whether there were plans to launch the product on a retail level ( available online or stores.) While there are no plans for this, the reasoning, I thought was very sound.

Denise shared that when using any product one should be under the care of a doctor to ensure that the product is working and that it's something that you should be using. Pretty sound thoughts. She also shared that this product contains no synthetic ingredients. So I'm really eager to learn more and when I do, I will share with you.

According to a press release from Allure, "women, aged 35 to 60, with wrinkles, dry skin, and discoloration, applied the cream twice a day for three weeks. The texture and tone of the skin treated with CoffeeBerry extract showed 46 percent improvement in fine lines and wrinkles, 64 percent in overall skin smoothness, and 79 percent in skin hydration."

Although the product's site is not retail, you can still go there and sign up to get updates on when the line will be available. From what Denise told me and from what I've read, this sounds like a pretty amazing product and will definitely be one to watch. I should be talking to the big PR people next week and I'll see if I can get them on Organic Beauty Radio to really give us the lowdown on this amazing product.

The line, tentatively named "RevaleSkin", includes a day cream, night cream and facial cleanser, with a price point of $40 to $100 and includes has 1% CoffeeBerry extract.

Stay tuned!

Dear Organic Beauty Expert:

First, thank you for taking the time to review RevaleSkin on your Pod cast. I loved "The Girlfriend Lounge" and think that it will be a success.

I do want to address some issues about your review of RevaleSkin. I believe that you did not do the product justice nor did you do a full and complete review. Please note:

1) You tried only the cleanser, the least important product in the line.

2) Sodium Laureth Sulfate is one of the most widely used surfactants in the market. Not as much as Sodium Laurel Sulfate but widely used.

2) SLES (Laureth) is LESS irritating than SLS (laurel). Tom's of Maine Toothpaste makes a big deal out of using SLS in their toothpaste, a gold standard when it comes to organic.

3) RevaleSkin has never said it was organic. Just that the anti-oxidant, Coffeeberry is naturally derived.

4) You never addressed the effectiveness of the day cream nor the night cream. Indeed, you never used them over a long period of time and reported on their ability to remove fine lines, wrinkles and hyper pigmentation (without Hydroquinones).

5) There are two clinical studies, one over 6 weeks with 30 subjects and one over 12 weeks with 50 subjects, showing the effectiveness of RevaleSkin. Mostly based on the use of THE DAY CREAM AND THE NIGHT CREAM.

I would have been pleased to see you having tried the system for, at least six weeks to gauge it's effectiveness. All you did was pan the price. Yet the price of these items are in line with other, Physician dispensed lines. As well, you never addressed how effective Coffeeberry really is.

You have had the trial kit (which was available only to select physicians and I would love to know how you got a hold of one) for many weeks. I have been following your blog. I would have thought that you would have been more thorough and tried the products over several weeks in order to give a real unbiased review.

If you had tried them and found them to not be effective, I would have no issue with your Pod cast but this was not the case.

Is it possible for you to revisit RevaleSkin, try it for a period of time and tell all of us what you think about RevaleSkin's ability to do it's job, which is reduce fine lines, wrinkles and fade hyper pigmentation? This would be a fair assessment.

Let me know what you think. I'd love to trade thoughts.

Thanks again for taking the time to read this and for your interest in RevaleSkin.

Regards,

Bernie Rizzo

"pretty amazing product" I think so too! I did read the article in my Allure January mag and was just fascinated with the "new big thing in skin care" if you will, and did some of my own research on the ingredient CoffeeBerry. I think I'm a little too young to worry about wrinkles now but I like to learn about these new discoveries in the beauty world.
Please keep us in touch, can wait to hear more!
