It's beginning to smell a lot like spring time
Spring time is not only the time to think about cleaning your house (some of you may actually do it, I'm prone to thinking about it until fall, at least) but it's also time to clean your wardrobe. Your fragrance wardrobe, that is. Just like certain colors are better for cool temps, scents are sometimes better experienced by seasons. In winter, deep scents are usually encouraged. Spring and summer is the time to get those light, tropical scents and sprays.
This handmade company from Northern California offers some great scents in a convenient roll-on bottle. Roll-on is great for a lot of reasons: easy to travel with, makes re-applying hassle-free and you usually don't have to worry about them spilling all over your bag. What makes mi-spa perfumes unique is that she uses cyclomethicone, making the perfume oil "dry." Many companies are using this ingredient to enhance their body sprays and perfumes. The chemical makeup of this ingredient makes it ideal for natural products because the molecules are too large to be absorbed into the skin. It literally "sits" on your skin.
I tried Sake. I was wondering how the perfume oil would feel. Does it feel dry? What would be the difference? Although it smooths on just like regular perfume oil, the oil disappears almost instantly. No need to to rub it in to distribute. Just roll on that wrist, smooth onto the other, a little bit behind the ears and off you go. The scent is long lasting and for just $ 12.50, you can afford to buy a few of them.
During the month of April, mi-spa has teamed with Charming Sam to offer a giveaway each Monday. There's a chance to win the Monoi Paradise Gift Set and I AM Beautiful earrings. Best part? No purchase necessary! Just go to mi-spa's site and sign up!
Mimie was also nice enough to have donated samples of her soap to the ladies who attended my perfume launch at W San Diego back in February. I kept a sample of soap for my self. I confess! Love it! I really have a weakness for bar soap. As much as I love the convenience and simplicity of liquid soap, it just doesn't give me the little kid feeling like a bar of soap. Even though we used Zest growing up!
mi-Spa has a soap sale going on and if you want to stock up on handcrafted soap, take advantage! And if you like using shampoo bars, they have an awesome Beer Shampoo Bar that lathers up nicely and rinses beautifully. Even in my locs.
I am always looking for small handcrafted companies that offer quality products and great prices and I think Mimie is doing something really good. Simple packaging, great products and a woman-owned business. What more can you ask for?

Elizabeth - it's spelled "grammar"

I know a lot of people will think I'm being a nitpicker, but whoever wrote the text on the mi-spa site should get a native English-speaker who knows English grammer, spelling and style to review the content. I'm sure the many gaffes on the site were due to less than native understanding of English, but it creates a negative impression to read text that is obviously not up to standard written English.
