Signature Scents by Kane launching April 2008
Finally, after 15 months of testing and reformulating and crying, the Signature Scent Collection is almost ready to go! I'm super excited and wanted to give you
all a heads up about the giveaway I'm offering when it launches in
April. Five OBE readers will receive the entire scent collection, which
consists of five scents and is worth about $255. This line offers five
eau de parfum oils made with natural and organic essences in a jojoba
and fractionated coconut oil base. These oils are super enriched and
the scents lasts about four to six hours, depending.
Creating this line has been like writing a book or having a baby. Creating a line of scents, each designed to evoke a feeling of sensuality and sexiness was a little challenging for me. Although I've created perfumes and scents for other people and companies, this line is personal: the impetus stemming from the death of my mother and her desire for me to live a life with passion and my desire to feel and be sexy again in my life, my marriage and for me. It was a tall order, but the feedback I received was incredible and the entire process was amazing. So my hope is that when you wear these oils, you'll get your sexy back, too!
Here's the breakdown of this natural/organic perfume collection:
Each eau de parfum is hand-crafted and packaged in an 1/8 oz roll-on bottle and secured in hand-sewn silk pouches. All essences are wild crafted and/or organic, when possible.
The Scents:
Heart eau de parfum oil
I was never a fan of traditional floral scents. You know the
heavy-handed rose scents that oh so subtly remind you of grandma's
stockings. So I wanted to create a floral that was sweet, yet
seductive; alluring and erotic. It's a floral for the new kind of
woman: sweet but strong; soft and yielding. Surrender.
ESSENCES:
Pink peppercorn
Cinnamon
Ambrette Seed
Jasmine
Rose
Sandalwood (ethically procured Mysore)
Tuberose
Love eau de parfum oil
This was the first scent created for this line. For me, it is the
ultimate dark sensual oil. You either love it or you don't. It is
intoxicating and unrelentingly sexual. If you enjoy raw scents that
leave nothing to the imagination, you need to get some love.
ESSENCES:
Cocoa absolute
Blood orange
Vanilla orchid
Rose
Patchouli
Cassia
Tuberose
Pink Lotus
Lust eau de parfum oil
My favorite blend of all time, yet the most basic. Lust combines my
favorite animal scents; oils that I wear when I'm playing Marvin Gaye's
"Let's Get it On." Apply to the spots that you love the most.
ESSENCES:
Patchouli
Sandalwood (ethically procured Mysore)
Ambrette seed
Soul eau de parfum oil
This scent has been the favorite of men and women who like fresh scents
with a hint of spice. It's been described as the smell of a lush forest
after the rains. Customers say they imagine themselves in a rain
forest, with lush fruits, birds calling and sweat on their bodies. It's
a clean, smooth scent with a hint of something more.
ESSENCES:
Ginger
Clove
Frangipani
Vetiver
Oak Moss
Jasmine
Mango Leaf Absolute
Light eau de parfum oil
Many customers requested a citrus perfume. I'm not a fan of citrus; I
find them a bit too light. Yet as I created this oil, I found that
there was a lot of room for play and experimentation. Light is a citrus
oil with a fantastical twist. It's warm and sensual and engaging and...
light.
ESSENCES:
Lemongrass
Japanese Yuzu
Blood Orange
Cedarwood
Ylang Ylang
Coconut Absolute
Black Pepper

Alyssa,
Thanks for the feedback. No worries; you know how long it takes me to get back sometimes.
As for the body butter... I'm still on the fence. I would like to launch with great labels and on a continued basis. I'll have to see. Many women really LOVE Ginga B., so if nothing else, I'll have that coming soon.

Mattie,
I chose the oil because I find it more sensual and intimate, which is the essence of the line. Also, while I tested them over the last year, I found the scent held longer in the oil base. I plan to launch the Ginga B. (gingerbread gourmand) EDP later this year and depending on requests I may or may not do the same with these oils.

Congrats Andrea! They look *delicious* ;)
May I ask why you decided to make them as oils and not the traditional alcohol base? I'm new at this whole natural perfume craze and like both formulas.
