Lube it up the natural way!
It's spring and I don't know about you, but I'm pretty darn frisky lately! Not sure if it's because I'm fairly active now on a regular basis, eating better or because my man is back after six months, but lust is truly in the air. From my standpoint as a sex educator (yes, I really am) there's just not enough talk about lube. There was a recent comment left on a post about this issue and it got me thinking... orgasms make me feel beautiful, they're natural... the topic fits for the blog!
So, you're organic, looking for natural products but when it comes to lube, you may think you're stuck with KY. Oh no. Think again!
The Sensual Vegan makes delightful natural and vegan lube (and they even come flavored.... with stevia, of course!)
Good Clean Love makes a wonderful personal lubricant to kickstart the night.
Sliquid is another great lube for women, glycerine and paraben free. Plus you just gotta love the name!
Emerita Personal lube has received a nod from an OBE reader and in fact, they have an entire line of products just for women and their pleasure
My own favorite, often enjoyed by hubby and I, is Pink Lube, available through Babeland. I love the bottle and I love how it works. High grade silicone and aloe vera make this a safe and fun product. And so far, it has lasted almost a year and we use it at least, well, let's just say no dust has settled on that bottle!

Does anyone know what happened to the Sensua homeopathic lubricants--they were the best I found and all natural and actually helped prevent yeast and bladder infections(esp a problem with menopause for me)I wish someone would make something similiar if they are out of business!

Dita,
Thanks for the comment. From a sex standpoint, silicone is excellent because the molecular structure allows the breakdown to glide on the skin, it doesn't penetrate the pores and doesn't contain phalates. So for sex, it's a supreme lube. As for natural, it looks like the chemical molecular process would allow for "natural" to be quite aptly used here. But I'm not a chemist, so I could be off in my interpretation.
As for your other oil suggestions, you know, whatever works. Personally, I don't find the other oils as long lasting because they're porous. As a massage therapist, I use those oils cause they're great on skin, but for my kitty, not so much. But whatever assists in reaching the ultimate goal...
Thanks for reading!

'm surprised that silicone-based lubricants are recommended as "natural". Silicone is a synthetic polymer which contains bonded silicon. (Silicon is natural, silicone is not.) Granted, Pink Lube is formulated with dimethicone, which is the highest quality silicone, but natural? Nope.
I'm not knocking silicone's lubricating abilities; just making the observation that it isn't natural, which is the aim of this blog. There are some wonderful natural alternatives out there! How about sweet almond oil? 100% natural, odorless, one ingredient, can be used with all toys except latex, won't break the bank... Plus, it's the most-used carrier oil in the massage industry because of its awesome glide and contains oleic and linoleic essential fatty acids, which help relax muscles. You can even mix a little bit of stevia in it, if you like. ;)

Thanks for the addition!
The more choices, the better I say.

What about Sylk Lube distributed out of Australia? No parabens, no propylene glycol...water-based and contains extracts of the kiwifruit vine. We started using this when we were no longer to get our favorite homeopathic lubricants from Sensua Organics!
