Organic Beauty Radio is ending

Organic_radio When I first started this blog, I also created a podcast as a companion as a way for you to hear the other side of the beauty story. As a PR person myself, I know it's often very difficult to get the story as opposed to the "story" and now what I get most of the time, is the "story."

So, with saying that, Organic Beauty Radio is done. I don't want to push marketing copy and I'm not interested in beauty B.S. I have interviewed some amazing people who had wonderful stories to share and I do hope that you take a listen if you can.

What I will do, however, is take some of the stories and include them in the beauty business book I'm writing, that way I can get their story across, minus the PR.

Thanks to all who subscribed and learned from their experiences.

Organic Beauty Radio is on hiatus

Organic_radioAfter 20+ episodes, Organic Beauty Radio is on hiatus until mid-June. I have lots more interviews that were conducted, but free time has become a luxury. Right now we're in post-production for the new online show, The Girlfriend Lounge, and getting ready to shoot the next batch of episodes for that.

I've received many emails from listeners wondering what happened to the show, so I'm happy you all were enjoying them. Look for the next crop of episodes in the next few weeks as I take over the net!

Miss Jessie's on Organic Beauty Radio

Titi_mikosalonOn this week's episode I interview Titi Branch of Miss Jessie's Salon in Brooklyn. Her salon and product line cater to curly, kinky, natural, multi-culti, biracial tresses that need special treatment and attention. During the interview she shares her "hairstory" and what prompted her and sister Miko to create this niche salon and hair care line.

This spring, Miss Jessie is adding three new products to their line: Rapid Recovery, a deep conditioner; Unscented Curly Pudding and a styling product for kinky natural hair. The existing product line will also be available in 2 oz, 8 oz and 16 oz, for all those who have been waiting to try the product but didn't want the commitment of a pound of product.

Titi is a wonderful interview and shares some great information on how each product should be used. Check out their site and take a listen to the interview.

Mineral Fusion on Organic Beauty Radio

After working in the make-up industry for more than a decade, Robin McGee, along with a team of industry experts, developed GloMinerals make-up line in 1999. This line is purely for select spas and doctors office, with the demand for a similar line for retail customers being so great, they launched Mineral Fusion this past winter through Whole Foods. In this episode, Robin tells us about the new line, the products and their future expansion to an area near you.

Take a listen.

Ms. Afrobella on The Organic Beauty Expert

NewafrobellajpgThere are many beauty blogs on the net nowadays. Some focus on very specific subjects, like beauty products, fashion, makeup or health. Afrobella aka Patrice is a beauty blog with an opinion. Although she offers reviews and tips on beauty and products, she also talks about issues that effect her, and that makes her unique. It is this uniqueness that prompted me to get in touch with her and interview her.

Although we bloggers talk about ourselves, our likes, dislikes etc. there is still a "wall" between the blogger us and the personal us. Often times as beauty bloggers, we're faced with how much to share, whether we should write as we speak, whether we should tackle a controversial issue that may or may not have anything to do with products. Is there a line and if so, where is it drawn? So it was a really interesting interview with Patrice as we spoke about beauty as well as being black beauty bloggers on the blogosphere.

The interview with Afrobella will be posted this Thursday and I invite you to take a listen and share your thoughts and opinions.

Gorgeous Business on Organic Beauty Radio

Gorgeous_artwork_001_6The newest episode of Organic Beauty Radio is up! This week we head down under to Noosa, Queensland, Australia. Hope I'm saying it all correctly. I'm assuming it's like saying Brooklyn, New York, United States.

Curls on Organic Beauty Radio

BannerrightaboutcurlsAll hair is not created equal and Mahisha Dellinger knows this fact first hand. It was the lack of hair care products that catered to multi-culti, kinky, curly hair that spurred her to create Curls. The natural line has products for adults as well as a unique line of products for kids, aptly named Curly Q. Check out her site for her great line of products, as well as tips for multi-culti hair care and information for cross-racial adoption.

My recommendation: The Curly Q Custard! Delicious!
